How is credit transfer different from RPL?
Credit transfer recognises completed study; RPL checks skills gained through work and other learning.
What is the difference?
Credit transfer uses evidence of completed study. RPL assesses skills learned through work or other experience against the course requirements. Both need a decision based on evidence; neither follows automatically from a job title.
How should you organise records?
Keep certificates and unit results together, with work examples in a separate set for discussion. Ask the provider which process applies to each claim and request its decision in writing. This makes the remaining study easier to identify.
What should you compare?
- Completed units
- Work evidence
- Written decisions
What remains unconfirmed?
Matching and acceptable evidence depend on the unit and provider.
What can you do next?
Put completed certificates in one folder and work examples in another.
